Press Comment On Bbc Panorama Programme On Student Visa Scandal

Commenting on the BBC Panorama programme on student visas, Alp Mehmet Vice Chairman of Migration Watch UK said:

“This Panorama programme is clear evidence of abuse that must have been apparent to a fair number of people in the education sector.  This may help to explain why only about one third of the two hundred thousand non EU students who get to Britain every year subsequently appear in the departures statistics. The government must now step in and extend interviews to test the credibility of students who apply to extend their visas in this country.”
