Right Not To Remain Silent

The Sunday Times leading article of 28 October, recognises that “It is not easy writing about immigration without being accused by the left of racism or by the right of complacency.” It stresses that “polls show that people are deeply concerned about its impact and frustrated that a policy fundamentally changing the nature of Britain is occurring with little or no debate.” It notes that many people in the UK feel that the political elite “have either lied about the scale of immigration or else buried their heads in the sand.” The article concludes that there is one thing that cannot be done and that “is to remain silent.”
