More Points-based System Details Released

Commenting, Alp Mehmet, Chairman of Migration Watch UK, said:

“The government has been pushed into the flawed system that was proposed before Covid-19 struck. They are ploughing ahead as if the last four months hasn’t happened, overlooking entirely the rapidly increasing unemployment.

“This system will encourage undercutting, while drawing in people from poorer countries that need workers much more than we do, simply because we have failed miserably to train and retain enough people in this country.

“The new route for overseas students to take low-paid jobs, having already abandoned control of work permit numbers, risks making it even harder for young Brits to find jobs.’

“This set of misguided measures, flowing from a muddled policy, does the British people a grave disservice.”
