COMMENT: UK Border Agency Consultation into Family Migration | Migration Watch UK

In response to the consultation document into Family Migration published by the Minister for Immigration Mr Damian Green, Sir Andrew Green, Chairman of Migration Watch UK, commented:

“These measures are absolutely on the right lines. Obviously any British citizen has the right to marry anyone of their choosing, but the marriage must be genuine. It is important that we take every possible measure to stop marriages taking place under pressure to protect vulnerable spouses. We fully endorse these proposals but recommend that they are backed up by a return to interviewing applicants where there is cause for concern.”
