Glasgow attack: asylum seeker warned of desire to ‘stab and kill’

An asylum seeker warned of his desire to “stab and kill” hours before launching a knife attack that left six people seriously wounded, including a police officer.

Badreddin Abedlla Adam, 28, from Sudan, was shot dead by police in Glasgow on Friday afternoon after going on the rampage at the city’s Park Inn hotel.

He was among hundreds of asylum seekers who had been moved from serviced apartments into hotels in response to the pandemic. It is understood he had been in Scotland for about two years and his case was still being considered.

Siraj Omar, a Yemeni refugee, said he had spoken to Adam on Thursday evening as he stood outside the hotel enjoying some fresh air. The attacker said he was frustrated after
