BRITAIN’S much-anticipated post-Brexit immigration policy will be unveiled within weeks after Theresa May ordered new Home Secretary Sajid Javid to speed up the plans.
His predecessor Amber Rudd triggered alarm among Brexiteers by repeatedly delayed publication of the new immigration proposals - and officials said they wouldn’t be ready until the autumn.
But No10 said the Prime Minister has now intervened to ensure Mr Javid publishes an immigration White Paper before the summer recess in July.
One official told Politico that the publication of the plans will be a “massive moment” for Mrs May’s premiership.
The PM ordered Mr Javid to make the immigration proposals his top priority when he replaced Ms Rudd last month.
A senior government source told The Sun: “She said we need to get it sooner rather than later.

“It’s right to say that one of the things she [the PM] thinks we need to focus on is that immigration white paper.”
It means Britain’s post-Brexit immigration policy will be published before the Government’s Migration Advisory Committee’s exhaustive study of the labour needs of each sector of the economy in September.
A spokesperson for the Home Office said: “There has been an agreement to bring forward a white paper and that is what we intend to do.”
